The year 2006 was marked by numerous surprises and twists.

Daniel Powter’s song “Bad Day” was Song of the Year.

Tim Cahill scored Australia’s first-ever goal at a Soccer World Cup.

John Howard was still Australia’s Prime Minister, and Steve Harmison bowled the first ball of the Ashes to second slip.

All those events pale in comparison to what happened at Tattersalls.

On March 26, 2006, a young, shy man from the town of Orange walked through the doors at Tattersalls and began a career that has helped many and shaped the Club into what it is today.

We are, of course, referring to Damian Tancred, the former Athletic Department Supervisor, who has seen and done it all.

Over the last 19 years, Damian’s guidance, care, knowledge, and willingness to help have been a mainstay of Tattersalls and something that Members and staff appreciate greatly.

From leading our Run Club, taking the famous Thursday morning spin class, being a guide and ambassador for the Tour de Orange, or leading the charge at Bar Reggio, there isn’t anything that Damian can’t do. On behalf of the staff and Members, thank you for everything.
