Monday 03 March from 07:45 to 08:30 in the Members Dining Room

Hearing well is linked to everything we do – every single day. Good hearing is essential to physical and emotional wellness. Many of us will know someone who has experienced a decline in hearing health.

It is important for your overall health and wellbeing to stay connected to family and friends. A recent study found that for those 65 and older, hearing loss had a greater impact on their life than cardiac disease, stroke, osteoporosis, sciatica, cancer, and many other common health conditions. Hearing loss is no longer an indicator of age. Many of us will experience hearing loss earlier than we expect. Well-hearing is vital to your overall well-being. Healthy hearing can result in many positive outcomes and is essential for your physical, mental and emotional health.

The health impacts of hearing loss for people that neglect their hearing health can include:

  • Faster rate of deterioration in the brain;
  • Social isolation and loneliness;
  • Anxiety and depression;
  • Increased risk of developing dementia;
  • Greater risk of falls.

Managing hearing loss and enabling social interactions are strongly recommended in working towards the prevention of cognitive decline. Tattersalls has engaged Steven Reinhart who will be coming to the Club on Monday 03 March (which happens to be World hearing day) from 07:45 for 45 minutes to present information and ideas regarding hearing health and ways to preserve it.

The presentation will take place in the Members Dining Room with a time for members to ask questions at the conclusion of the talk. To book your spot for the talk please reply to events@tattersallsclub.org
