Our History

Tattersalls Club, Sydney was founded in 1858, originally established as a meeting place for those connected with racing and the wider sporting community of New South Wales. While these origins form part of our history, the Club has continually evolved in response to the changing interests and needs of our members.

Throughout the twentieth century and beyond, we focused on developing first-class athletic and dining facilities, shaping the Club into a vibrant hub for fitness, wellbeing, business and social connection in the heart of Sydney. Our Athletic Department has become a defining feature of the Club, complemented by welcoming spaces for Members to dine, meet and gather.

Today, we balance heritage with progress, offering a contemporary private Club experience grounded in tradition, community and the ongoing development of our athletic and hospitality offerings.
